How to Handle Haiti Student Life, DenSem StuCo and VGI invite you to a brown bag lunch discussion with Dr. Dieumeme Noelliste in regards to the Earthquake in Haiti. Dr. Noelliste will discuss the comments made by Pat Robertson and how we as evangelical Christians can respond appropriately to such disasters. This discussion will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 12-1pm in room 119.
Amazon Missions Meeting DenSem StuCo wants to puts hands and feet on the Gospel and serve the people of the Amazon at the end of May 2010. There will be an informational meeting in classroom 105/106 from 1-3pm on Friday, February 12th 2010. Details about the trip will be provided at the meeting. Please RSVP here.
Coffee House Concerts Come enjoy some Solid Grounds coffee and listen to some spectacular local artists. The Coffee House Concert series for this semester will take place in Potter’s Café and will include the following artists: Megan Burtt on Thursday, February 18th from 7-9pm (meganburtt.com) Andrea Ball on Thursday, March 11th from 7-9pm (myspace.com/ballandrea) Ali Grayson on Thursday, April 15th from 7-9pm (CD Release Concert) Veterans Support Denver Seminary is partnering with Arapahoe Community College to create a support group for students who are veterans or active military. These students and their families are invited to a BBQ at ACC on the 2nd Floor South Terrace on Saturday, February 6th from 11am to 2pm. A support group will meet starting February 9th and every other Tuesday after that at Shepherd’s Gate in Room 156. If you are interested in participating in either event contact Ronald Skaggs or Dr. Jan McCormack.
ATIC Campaign Join the students, faculty, and staff as we live sacrificially and provide scholarships for students in need. All gifts collected will be donated in the form of a scholarship to a student in need at Denver Seminary. The beneficiary will be selected objectively and anonymously by StuCo. Participants can donate by cash or check to the boxes available before and after each chapel service or can donate online. Simply click here, click “Give Online” on that page, and fill in the information box that will pop up. Make sure to select the “ATIC Initiative” in the drop down box provided. Our hope is that each student will cut his or her budget by $5 every month and donate that to the ATIC fund. Click here for more information. The Salt & Light Prayer Meeting A student-led gathering which takes place each Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in the Community Room, Apt. Bldg. #2. Student Insurance Denver Seminary does not require students to have health insurance. However, we strongly encourage our students to obtain it. Therefore we provide our students with resources for cost- effective health insurance options. Currently, we have information on individual plans and are coordinating a new group plan for students. For more information, check out the Student Health Insurance page on the Student Life tab of MyDenSem. Note: Students must re-enroll for health insurance every semester. Enrollment is open through Friday, February 12th. Christians for Biblical Equality Seminars The first meeting of the Spring semester will take place on Monday, February 15 from 11:30-1p in the Graber Board Room. Lorry Lutz will speak on “The Latest on Women in India.” Lorry is the author of nine books. She spent twenty years in South Africa, was part of the AD2000 Movement and consultant with Women of Global Action. For questions contact Lindsey Widstrom, or Mary Hanson.
The American Council of the Blind of Colorado (ACBCO) provides scholarships for deserving blind or visually impaired students who wish to further their education. It is our desire that this information reach as many eligible students as possible. M.Div. Students Planning to take M.Div. Orals in Fall ‘10 or Spring ‘11 You are strongly encouraged to attend an informational meeting from 12:00 to 12:50 on Wednesday, February 10, in Room 103. Other M.Div. students are also welcome. Counseling Internship Orientation There will be a mandatory meeting for all School and Community Counselors (Licensure) planning to start their internship in the summer or fall 2010 on Friday, February 26th from 3:00-5:00pm (Room TBA). You must attend this orientation at least one semester prior to your planned internship start. You need only attend orientation once. Contact Debbie Edwards with questions.
Prepare & Enrich Training Workshop Offered by our own Dr. Jan McCormack, this training offers certification in Marital and Premarital Counseling. The workshop will be held February 13th from 9am to 5pm in LDC room 120. To learn more about Prepare & Enrich, please visit their website. Registration is available on-line (on DenSem’s website), or you may pick up a registration form from Sharon Gipe in the Counseling Division office. ISRAEL 2010 – Last call! The Board of Trustees of Denver Seminary requests the honor of your presence at the installation of Mark S. Young, Ph.D., seventh president of Denver Seminary.

Waterstone Community Church is located in southwest metro Denver with easy access from C-470 and Bowles Avenue. From C-470 turn on to Bowles heading east, travel one block east to the traffic light at Alkire Street, and then travel north ½ block to the church entrance.

Join the students, faculty, and staff as we live sacrificially and provide scholarships for students in need*
Set a goal to save money in a specific area of your budget and then donate what you saved.
You can donate by cash or check to the boxes available before and after each chapel service or you can donate online. Simply click here, click “Give Online,” and fill in the information box that will pop up. Make sure to select the “ATIC Initiative” in the drop down box provided.
We are not trying to recruit people to give from what they already have. Rather, we want to help you develop a lifestyle of sacrificial living. We ask that you fast from certain luxuries and then give to this fund from that experience.
Here’s are some ways to get started:
~Take shorter showers~Spend less on groceries~Turn off lights when they aren’t being used~Ride your bike~Turn your heat off when you’re gone~
Consume less~Save more~Love your neighbor

Need a break? So do we! Come join us for a night of worshipful expression and freedom. This might be the best thing you can do for your spiritual formation during finals
We believe that worship should be liberating, boundless and expressive. Because we strongly believe this, DenSem StuCo wants to offer you an outlet for your methods of worship. There are not guidelines. There are no requirements.
Grab a musical instrument, some art work, journal entries, or anything else your heart desires and come express your love for the Almighty God who is worthy of our praise.
