Mission Statement of the Mission Society
1. Changing the lives of the poor and downtrodden by being the salt and light of Christ. This is done by the power of the Holy Spirit through means of prayer and by showing the love of Christ through means of sacrificial service.
2. Teaching the future leader of the Church (Denver Seminary students) skills in both evangelism and leadership. The ultimate goal is not just to serve, but to give of one’s self by suffering along side of those who suffer.
3. Reinvigorate the foundation of prayer for evangelism in the hearts of the future leaders of the Church
4. Experience in awe, the power of God in our lives, through the dual spiritual disciplines of prayer and obedience.
5 goals of the semester
1. Work with habitat twice this semester.
2. Create the foundations for 2 international mission trips.
3. Do the leave raking project.
4. Have 2 teams regularly go to downtown Denver for Hope.
5. Work with Salvation Army or the a Retirement Home

Bio
John Reid went to Rutgers the State University of NJ where he earned a double major in Religion and Philosophy. Before coming to Denver Seminary he served for two years as a missionary with Friendships. One of these years was spent at their main base in Louisiana and the other year was spent on the island of Roatan Honduras. He is currently in his second year and is pursuing a MDiv degree.
My Job Description
- Create a service related event for the students of Denver seminary to partake in once a month.
- Promote the creation of an international mission trip.
- Help partake in other student council projects.
