Summertime in Colorado!

27 07 2010

Whether you are taking summer classes or not, the best advice we can pass your way is to GET OUT! There are over 300 days of sunshine each year in the state of Colorado and it would be a real shame if you didn’t take advantage of those.

The Denver area alone has countless opportunities for outdoor recreation during these warm summer days. There are lots of movies to watch in the park, plenty of stuff to do on 16th street, $4 Rockpile Rockies Tickets,  and the Platte Rive is just waiting for you to float or ride it with a cold beverage and some good friends.

Do yourself a favor this summer and get outside. Many places around the country are too hot, humid, or rainy. Praise the Lord we live in a state where we can play outside almost all the time.

Check out some of the other fun stuff to do in Colorado below and GET OUT!

DenSem StuCo Blog in the Top 50!

25 05 2010

We are pleased to announce that mastersindivinity.org has ranked this blog in the top 50 blogs managed by a divinity student! This serves as even more motivation to keep this blog updated with pertinent information, maintain a clean line of communication between us and DenSem students, and continue to use social media to keep our readers posted in real-time.

Thanks for making this blog a success! Please don’t hesitate to offer suggestions for how we can make it better and smoother.

The semester has gone but we aren’t going anywhere!

18 05 2010

You made it! Welcome to the first week of summer folks. If you’re taking a break from school this summer, we trust you’ll find Denver a fantastic place for entertainments and fun. If you’re taking summer classes, you’re not alone. Many of your StuCo officers are taking classes as well.

Even though the semester is over and things are slowing down a bit, you can trust the StuCo isn’t going to miss a beat. We’re working through the summer to make sure the fall semester is more efficient and more student oriented than ever before. Below are some questions we are asking ourselves. We’d love it if you chimed in to let us know what you think.

1. How can we best use our budget to benefit the students at DenSem?

2. What’s the right balance between helpful/educational experiences and fun/relaxing events on campus?

3. What’s the best way to encourage the community among DenSem students that already exists on and off campus?

4. What’s the best way to foster new community building experiences among DenSem students on and off campus.

5. What worked last semester? What didn’t work?

We welcome your thoughts on these. Please do not hesitate to respond with a comment on this page. OR you can email your thoughts to stuco@denverseminary.edu

Enjoy your summer and remember, StuCo hasn’t gone anywhere.
