‘…Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, with our unveiled faces reflecting like mirrors the brightness of the Lord, all grow brighter and brighter as we are turned into the image that we reflect; this is the work of the Lord who is Spirit’ (2 Cor 3:16-18).

Expression Nights

3017375621_3e868be38fWorship should be liberating, boundless and expressive. Because we strongly believe this, DenSem StuCo wants to offer you an outlet for your methods of worship. There are not guidelines. There are no requirements.

Grab a musical instrument, some art work, jokes, skits, journal entries, or anything else your heart desires and come express your love for the Almighty God who is worthy of our praise.

Next Expression Night TBA

Vision: To allow the Holy Spirit to transform us and make us holy. Spiritual life is here to nurture the inner contemplation that is stirring, whatever that may be. Spiritual life on campus is a place for students to just be and come as they are; with their ideas for Denver Seminary, ideas for life, struggles, blessings experienced; ALL of who they are and know that they are never alone.

5 goals for the semester:

  • Expression nights: Have one worship service each month where people can use expression: Worship, art, journaling, creating.
  • Meet one on one with a student each week and talk about their spiritual walk and what Denver Seminary is doing for them in their spiritual transformation.
  • Dance your prayers off: Have a women’s prayer/expression of dancing night each week (run by a student).
  • Have Spiritual Life be more known and embraced by Denver Seminary through activities and one on ones by the end of the school year.
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to lead me and to put myself aside when I am getting in the way of what God is doing.

Bio:
Copy of roommatesI was born and raised in California, where I went to college and got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Biola University. I came to Denver Seminary after falling in love with it by attending the Focus on the Family Institute while I was in college. I moved here a year ago and I am currently in the community counseling/counseling licensure program. I am passionate about bringing wholeness to what God made perfect in his sight: You and me! I love living in the reality that we can continuously have FREEDOM in Christ! Whoot whoot!

My Job Description:
I am here to encourage Denver Seminary students to wrestle with what is happening internally, being changed, transformed, and moved. I am here to walk along side them in their contemplation of who God has made them and hear about their spiritual health.  If you want to talk over coffee or go on a walk, I am here to experience life with you and grow in our freedom of who we are in Christ.
